Print the Brain
Print the Brain: Classical electronics has to contend with many serious physical restrictions for further development. One solution is neuromorphic circuit concepts that are based on the logic and circuit morphology of the brain. One very promising switching element is the memristor, which can be successfully printed. However, a 3D circuit like the one in the brain cannot be realized with conventional electronics.
The pmTUC solves this challenge by massively stacking thousands of layers, which are printed with memristors and joined together to form a block. The memristors can then also be freely connected in the vertical axis to form circuits.
With this approach, a genuine neuromorphic, three-dimensional circuit technology becomes foreseeable.
