Niebling develops, manufactures and sells systems and tools for the 3D forming of films for the In-Mold Electronics (IME) process, in which the functionality is already on or in the film and is then finalized in injection molding. By heating the substrate only to the glass transition temperature, not to the melting temperature as in traditional vacuum thermoforming, High Pressure Forming (HPF) achieves significantly more precise tolerances in regards to 3D geometry or the positioning of symbols, circuits or electronic components, and also reproduces them with repeatable accuracy for mass production. The main applications are interior components with, for example, illuminated touch and slider functions in current automobiles.
