The automotive industry is certainly a pioneer here with heated headlights, mirrors and steering wheels. Among other things, such transparent heaters allow vehicle automation sensors to create accurate 3D mapping in all weather conditions.
The biggest advantage of a transparent film heater compared to established heaters today is the rapid heating up. With a foil heater, for example, a pane can be heated to 60°C within a few seconds. Conventional heating systems work using fans and heating wires and primarily heat the ambient air. This takes considerably longer and also costs a lot of energy. One more reason to use foil heaters based on transparent electronics.
