Niebling develops, manufactures and sells equipment and tooling for 3D-forming of films for the In-Mold Electronics (IME) process, where the functionality already "sits" on or inside the film and will be finalized by injection molding to end product. Heating of films just to glass transition temperature, not to melting temperature like in traditional vacuum-/thermoforming, allows more precise tolerances in regards to 3D-geometry and positioning of symbols, circuits or electronic components., also suitable for mass production. The main applications are interior components with, for example, illuminated touch and slider functions in current automobiles.
