Functional Print Cluster
REACT-IME, Next-Generation Automotive Components
Reactime is an R&D project focused on developing an Advanced Electronic Armrest with touch capability and integrated lighting using In-Mold Electronics.
he initiative addresses the low maturity of IME technology and the lack of commercial solutions integrating sensors, lighting, and touch control in 3D-injected parts. It aims to transfer cutting-edge technology to the Spanish automotive sector to create lighter, more efficient, and modern interiors.
The project involves a multidisciplinary consortium led by Functional Print Cluster, with CEAGA, AIMPLAS, Industrias Alegre, Valver, and Nufesa contributing expertise in automotive innovation, printed electronics, plastic injection, functional printing, and electronic validation.
Reactime will deliver a functional demonstrator with embedded IME electronics, enabling future commercial applications and positioning the consortium at the forefront of European plastronics while supporting technology transfer to Tier 1 and Tier 2 manufacturers.
